WTC 2025-27 Points Table: Updated World Test Championship Standings After New Zealand Beat England At The Oval

New Zealand beat England at The Oval to level the three-match series 1-1. Here’s how the World Test Championship (WTC) table stands after the result.

New Zealand level the series at The Oval

Matt Henry’s 11 wickets, a maiden Test ton from Glenn Phillips and Henry Nicholls’ solid second-innings 121, after coming in as a replacement for the retired Kane Williamson mid-series, set up the win for the visitors. The 253-run victory was New Zealand’s biggest Test win, in terms of runs, in England.

England went into the last day with five wickets intact and a set Joe Root batting at 75, though still needing another 281 to pull off an improbable win. But a fiery spell from Henry to start the day triggered a massive collapse.

He had the stand-in captain trapped leg before, Archer was bowled by a delivery that kept low in the same over, before Matt Fisher and Josh Tongue went down on consecutive deliveries in his next to complete a match 10-for. England went from 188-5 to 192-9 in no time, and were eventually bowled out for 209. Debutant Jordan Cox became Henry’s sixth of the innings as he finished with innings figures of 6-29 and match tally of 11-109.
