Matt Henry’s 11 wickets, a maiden Test ton from Glenn Phillips and Henry Nicholls’ solid second-innings 121, after coming in as a replacement for the retired Kane Williamson mid-series, set up the win for the visitors. The 253-run victory was New Zealand’s biggest Test win, in terms of runs, in England.

With the win, New Zealand went from joint-fourth to joint-third on the World Test Championship table and now have the same percentage of points won as Sri Lanka. England are seventh.
