We’re delighted to share a first glimpse into rehearsals for our upcoming production of Steel Magnolias at the Lyric Theatre.

Bursting with warmth and wit, we can’t wait to welcome Steel Magnolias to the stage this Summer. This timeless story of strength, sisterhood, and southern charm is a love letter to great female friendships everywhere.

At the heart of the story lies the enduring bond between six remarkable women: Truvy, M’Lynn, Shelby, Annelle, Ouiser, and Clairee. Together, they face life’s highs and lows with grace, humour, and an endless supply of hairspray.

SNEAK PEEK INTO THE REHEARSAL ROOM

This week marked an exciting and energising beginning to rehearsals, as our cast and creative team came together for the first time. We watched the script come to life with the full ensemble, while the design team shared their vision for the production, from set to costume, transporting us back to 1980s, Northwest Louisiana.

From the first read-through to exploring the heart, humour, and poignancy of these much-loved characters, it’s already clear that something very special is taking shape.
