Pat Riley Breaks Down Exact Meaning Of `Heat Culture’
The term “Heat Culture” has existed for about the past 15 years.
It started around the time LeBron James and Chris Bosh joined Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat in the summer of 2010. With the Heat being among the best teams in the NBA, it caught on quickly.

Before long, the organization was known for the mantra. Players talked about it. Fans embraced it. It got to the point it became annoying to outsiders. Heat team president Pat Riley and Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade had a discussion about it during an appearance on Wade’s WyNetwork.
“There’s so much written about culture today,” Riley said. “A lot of it in reference to the Heat that a lot of people want to throw up. They’re tired of hearing about it. It’s almost like, `Are they the only ones that have a culture?’ No, everybody has a culture. The culture is simply a shared vision.”‘
Riley and the Heat never wanted to force-feed the league the concept of culture. They just wanted to let everyone know what separates the organization from others.

“It’s up to the coach to create the philosophy,” Riley said. “… Once you set the tone about your philosophy is going to be, you have to then paint the picture. It’s like an image.”
SUMMER PLANS FOR JOVIC
Heat forward Nikola Jovic admitted he was frustrated how this season played out from a personal standpoint.
He plans on doing everything possible to avoid a repeat. It starts with him making the decision to play for the Serbian National Team this summer. The news was first reported by Meridian Sports.
This is the perfect opportunity for Jovic to begin his recovery after a disappointing fourth season in the NBA. It should give him a chance to play against some top-notch competition.

“It was not easy especially with the injuries,” Jovic said during exit interviews. “I feel like that was a big part of the year where I was not on the court this year. You just don’t like it.”
