Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Points Table: Updated Standings And Net Run Rate After New Zealand Claim Nervy Win Over Scotland
Defending champions New Zealand claimed their first win of the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup over Ireland in Southampton yesterday (June 19). Here’s how the Women’s T20WC points tables look after the game.
New Zealand just about kept Ireland at bay in a nervy run chase after yet another poor performance in the field left them on the verge of a third straight defeat. They were reduced to 110-5 by Ireland’s attack, before managing to get up to 140-6 at the end of their innings. Izzy Sharp top-scored with a much-needed 36 off 28 balls at the end of the innings, while Orla Prendergast and Cara Murray took two wickets apiece.
Despite losing opener Amy Hunter early, a big partnership from Prendergast and captain Gaby Lewis put Ireland in control of the chase. The pair put on 110 for the second wicket, taking Ireland to 20 runs from their target with 14 balls to go. However, White Ferns’ captain Melie Kerr broke the partnership, drawing a slog sweep out of Prendergast, which was taken in the deep by Mady Green.

Two balls later, Kerr removed Rebecca Stokell for a duck, before Rosemary Mair took the key wicket of Lewis in the next over, with the equation at 14 runs needed off eight balls. Suzie Bates, who was brought back into the side for Sophie Devine, who fell ill before the game, bowled the final over with 10 runs to defend. Leah Paul and Louise Little got Ireland to four runs away from victory, but New Zealand got over the line to get the first points of the tournament on the board.
