What I Wore Lately: Real-Life Spring Outfits
Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately, where I round up the everyday outfits I’ve been wearing over the past couple of weeks. These pictures conveniently start at the beginning of May, right after I got back from two weeks in Florida. Our weather has been up and down (more down than up, sadly), so there’s a mix of warm- and cool-weather looks in this one.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29–30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8.5 shoe. I often fall between sizes, so fit notes matter.
It took me a few days after I got back from Florida to get back in the swing of things at home, but by the weekend, I was ready to get out and catch up with friends. I met a couple of girlfriends for dinner that Friday night, so I got dressed to go out.
It was chilly but sunny, and I thought this cropped button-up would be fun to wear. It has red stripes, so I tried it first with the red jeans, but it felt a bit bright and matchy-matchy to me, so next I tried the ecru. But neither of these felt quite like me.

I didn’t bother with makeup or jewelry the next day, but I pulled on jean shorts, a tee, and flip-flops, so at least I felt dressed.

Another casual day with minimal makeup, but I threw on jeans and a striped top and tried out these new Beek sandals that had just come in.
I’ve had their flip-flops for years, and they’re amazing because they’re all leather and have a molded footbed. I love the barely-there strappy design on these, with the crisscross straps and gold stud accents adding a subtle touch of shine.

I went to the mall on Saturday, and I threw on this fun new open-stitch sweater that just came in from Social Threads. It’s that same pinky-red shade as the J.Crew summer rollneck, and I love the little wood button detail at the neck.
And before you ask, I wore a red bra underneath, but no cami. It is a bit see-through, but I feel like the red bra makes it much less noticeable than my usual beige one, which I had on initially.
I also love this pairing with the red sweater and light-wash denim. It has such a fresh, summery vibe. It was overcast and a bit chilly, so I went with light perforated Mary Jane flats and a coordinating bucket tote. And the water bottle I’m carrying is so pretty, I decided it deserved to be in the photo too!

When I got home, I threw on this pretty coral-pink quarter-zip short-sleeve sweatshirt and my favorite Madewell Jules jeans for the afternoon and to host our small group that night.
These new Gola sneakers had just come in, although I ended up wearing the Dolce Vita Delaney sneakers with the coral laces because I liked how they coordinated with this top (which is more coral in person, not the bright pink it looks like here). But anyway, I really love the combination of white and beige for a neutral sneaker that isn’t stark white, and the woven fabric keeps them feeling nice and summery.

And that’s a wrap! I hope you found some spring outfit inspiration in here—or maybe even a few fun new color combinations to try.
